Inspired by Hartz Mountain National Park in Tasmania, 'Summer Walk' is an acrylic work on board (45 x 61 cm) painted in 2021. It was part of the Solo Exhibition: Suspended Breath, A Hartz Journey. ARTBOX, Huonville and Hobart, TAS.
"You're quite exposed at this point on the path, to the elements and the view. Hartz peak is in front of you and to the left you can see down towards the coast. I like to stop to examine the plants, to look at all the colours in their foliage. The deep purples, bright greens, oranges, yellows. So much vibrancy when you take the time to stop and really look. I hope that if you head to Hartz then you too will stop and really look at all the colours. You see so many more than when you look at the place on a more surface level."
